Woking YMCA - Ypod - Young Parents Group
Our Ypod Young Parents Group runs every Thursday from 12.30pm-2.30pm. We always welcome new people at Woking YMCA
Our group is open for mums and dads, with or without their children and also pregnant girls, all up to the age of 26. We provide free lunch and drinks and lots of toys and games for the children. We will also re-imburse your travel expenses.
We want to encourage young parents to become all they can be. We will offer you support, friendship, social opportunities and activities and we also plan to offer courses shortly.

Funding Joy for Ypod Young Parents August 09
A group that caters for young parents at the Woking YMCA’s Ypod received a welcome boost after it was handed a cheque for £4,000 to help towards running costs. The Young Parents Group was presented with the money by insurance company Allianz, through a fund managed by the Surrey Community Foundation. George Stratford, Allianz’s finance director, said:
“The group is a great project. It provides friendship, information and opportunities for the young people to develop skills, as well as fun activities for their babies and young children. The Woking YMCA reflects Allianz’s values of supporting and improving facilities for vulnerable people.”
Hannah Robinson, Connexions Youth Worker at the Chobham Road centre, said:
“We are so grateful to Allianz for supporting the group. The group has been very successful in developing member skills and confidence and the grant will enable us to continue our support to young parents in Woking.”
The Surrey Community Foundation is a charity that aims to inspire local giving for local needs. The group meets every Friday between 12.30 and 2.00pm and is open to parents aged 36 and below. To find out more go to www.surreycommunityfoundation.org.uk.
